Episode 1: Here We Go! - I finally started a podcast!!

Episode 1: Here We Go!!

Oh my gosh, I'm so excited, so excited to be here. I can't believe I'm finally starting a podcast. I have been wanting to do this for so long. I have thought about it for so long. I have been wanting to do it for so long.

I have realized through my almost 33 years of life a couple of things. One of those things being, I just need to do it. You know, I tend to want to have things perfect or like before I like put it out into the world that needs to be exactly how I want it, it it to be exactly how I imagine it, and basically perfect, right? So usually that ends up where things don't actually make it out into the world. And that's sad. So you know what? I'm just going for it. I know this is going to not be perfect, probably for a long time, but it's going to get there. And maybe you will never get there, but hey, it's going to get closer. So we're just starting where we can and I'm really excited. So here we go.

All right. So you may be thinking, Elizabeth, what the heck is your podcast going to be about? So let me tell you. I've kind of written up three pillars of topics of conversation where kind of like umbrellas of what the episodes are going to fall under.

So let me tell you what those pillars are. So the first one is travel. If you know me, if you follow me on Instagram, you will know that this is not a surprise. I love travel so much. This year, my family and I made a challenge of doing a road trip a month. And it has been so fun. And we are almost to December. We almost have made it the whole year and we're doing great. We're right on target. And we have learned a lot and I'm definitely going to share more about that later. But that's just to illustrate my point in that we just love traveling. And all its shapes and forms.

I was always the person growing up. I would cut out pictures and magazines of beautiful places that I wanted to visit one day. And I've just always had that urge, that desire to travel. I love seeing beautiful places. I am fascinated by other cultures, other people, architecture and landscapes. And And everything about travel I love. Also, I've moved a lot. And so I feel like that has given me other perspectives as well with learning how to live other places. And having open and open mind and making friends and all that good stuff. So that is one of the umbrellas that I will have on the show.

The other one, the second one is womanhood. Again, if you know me, if you follow me on Instagram, this probably is not a surprise either. I feel very passionately about helping women, about lifting them up, about helping them see their potential and recognize what they can do, how amazing they are. Also recognizing systems in our cultures that don't help us and how we can better work around those and fight against them and also helping us with our relationships with our kids, with their husbands. I plan to have my husband on a couple times. I think it's very important to have both perspectives. Anyway, so that's definitely something I'll be covering.

The third umbrella of topics of conversations some episodes will be under is growth. I listen to self-development podcasts and books and things like that all the time. It is something that I just enjoy. It's something that I love and that is often on my mind. I often have things that I want to talk about under that umbrella on my mind that I love to share. That will be the third pillar topic of conversation.

So there you go. This podcast will be about lots of things, but mostly the umbrellas are travel, women-headed growth.

I'm so excited for you guys to be here. It really means so much for you to listen. I'm guessing, I don't know who's going to be listening to this first episode, probably my mom. Thanks mom for listening. I'm just really excited to be here. Yeah, so I guess this is me signing off for the first time.

Company Highlight:

Shine Cosmetics was born out of a sincere desire to help women everywhere feel truly beautiful inside and out. Chandler Taylor, one of the founders, was horrified at the names used for the makeup products her daughter had to use for her dance performances.

She and the other founders became determined to change the way the beauty industry markets to women.

They created Shine Cosmetics, a makeup company that has named all of their products empowering things. For example, the foundation that I like is called Courage and the blush I use is called Independent.

The entire message of their company is to empower women and help them feel beautiful. I have personally tried many of their products and I love them all. I'm one of those people that I hate having the feeling that something's on my face and I hate giving people hugs and having like my makeup all on their clothes. Shine Cosmetics BB Cream does not do that. It's so smooth going on and it just takes like 30 seconds for it to dry and after it dries, it literally feels like there's nothing on my face. It doesn't rub off when I touch it. It doesn't rub off when I hug someone or anything. I love it so much.

It also has SPF in it, which my mom swears is why her skin is the way it is at 60 years old. I realize you probably don't know what she looks like, but I'm telling you that's a good thing.

I'm also obsessed with their lip lasts. They stay on forever and they are so smooth and beautiful, even when my lips are chapped. My favorite color right now is a bright purple called Resilient.

Use code ELIZABETH10, that's ELIZABETH-A10 for 10% off at checkout. I also have a list of all the products and the colors I use on my website, LoveAlwaysElizabeth.com. You are going to love them, I promise.
